Two goods for each not-so-good?....

This inaugural blog post confirms a theory I've long had about myself: I write when distressed. My goal is to change this. True, there will always be aspects of life I can bitch about. But $20 says for every "Awww. Really, life?? You're gonna do that to me? REALLY?" there's at least two or three "Hey, thanks!!" moments to accompany it.

I'm documenting both.

Perhaps this venture is a bit self-indulgent, but that's fine. From time to time, I suppose it's acceptable to indulge the self.

"Awww. Really life?" moment of the day: Against my better judgement, I sent a text to an individual I've been trying to wean myself from. True to form, the text was ignored and not responded to, putting me in this spot where I wonder why, oh why, OH WHY I even extended the gesture in the first place. It made me feel needy and a lil pathetic. I don't do needy and pathetic.

"Hey, thanks!!" moments of the day: 1) I saw the cashier at Starbucks slip an extra vanilla bean scone into a little kid's bag today. The little kid walked up to the register and paid for one lil' scone, and the "partner" (geeze, I love the starbucks terminology) gave him two. It was kind and made me smile. 2) My bag of stolen work clothes were returned to me today!! My car was broken into (for the second time in one week), and all the assholes took was my NPR tote o' dirty work clothes. A lady found it near her yard, searched for some identifier, found my nametag and called my workplace, enabling me to retrieve my recently-bought work shoes and favorite back bra!!
